Dulwich Hill-Semi-detached terrace
Enriching the character of a federation semi-detached by creating an open plan inner-city retreat.
The rear half of the original residence was demolished and a new configuration designed to reflect the client's lifestyle.
The new layout created a third bedroom, brought the wet areas together, added storage within the roof, and created an open plan kitchen, dining and living area.
The open plan area flows past a feature corner glass garden, through large stacking doors out onto a covered timber deck and landscaped area.
Materials used included polished concrete, recycled brick work (bricks were set aside and cleaned from the demolition phase), cedar doors (with retractable centor fly screens) and windows, spotted gum timber deck, raked ceilings with associated lighting and external motorised venetian blinds.
